The Concert Series Vol. 1 Waterparks 24/03/11

Pre-Show

This Concert was definitely a great start to the 2024 concert line up. The Tickets were easy to purchase and didn't have you waiting in a que behind a thousand odd people and didn't cost an arm and a leg $155 CAD for 2 tix's and guaranteed venue parking, which automatically gives brownie points to Waterparks. Now Waterparks is a band I've been following for a little while now so when the SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN Tour was announced I had to grab some tickets for the Toronto show at History.

The Show

The line to get in for the door was long (literally around the entirety of the History Venue) but everyone was respectful of each other and the kids that approached us thinking we were the line to get into the movie theater to see the new Kung Fu Panda. Missed the first opener but the second band we caught their whole set and well it was a great show since they only used backing tracks but hey who am I to judge. The Waterparks set was amazing they really know their fans and how to make a brilliant stage set. I do gotta give a shout at Awsten for playing about 2-4 songs acoustically on a piano right in front of us and away from the stage (Still don't know how he got there with no one noticing). The interlude to distract from the stage set being changed was amazing and the message was one of the top mid show messages I've heard to date.

Leaving Home

Now Toronto is Toronto so the process of leaving was... well not fun. From the venue to the History paid for parking was simple and quick which was great as I'm not a fan of wandering the streets of Toronto after dark. Once in the car leaving the parking lot took a good 20-30 minutes which compared to Budweiser stage I'll gladly take. Once on the road it was thankfully a pretty clear drive to the Gardiner Express, and took less then an hour to make it home after a quick stop for food.
